Here are some common things that come up while pumping!

First, make sure that the seal between the breast and the flange is never broken as when it breaks it may take up to 30 seconds to re-establish proper suction. When using a hands free bra while pumping, proper sizing of the bra and placement of the flange needs to be ensured to avoid the issue of breaking the seal. Make sure to also use the correct flange size. If unsure, our YouTube channel  has a video explaining the different flange sizes.

Hold the flanges by the cup portion, as any other way can cause the loss of suction.

All HygieniKit parts are covered under a 3 month warranty with a valid proof of purchase.

Your Purely Yours or Ultra base (motor) may need to be replaced if:

  • Motor is completely dead and pump does not work with batteries
  • Light on the motor flickers but pump does not turn on
  • Motor does not cycle properly
  • Motor makes a grinding noise that affects the suction
  • Very low or no suction is felt when finger is placed on the tubing port (finger test)

The AC adapter (plug) needs to be replaced when:

  • The motor works with batteries but not with the power cord

Base and AC Adapter are covered under a 1 year warranty with a valid proof of purchase.

If you are experiencing issues with your pump, please make sure you are not using the plug while the batteries are inserted. Please choose one method at a time for the power source.

Battery Information

We would like to reinforce the safe and proper use of alkaline batteries in Ameda personal breast pumps. The following warning is being added to all personal breast pumps in the Ameda Purely Yours family of products. Do not install batteries backwards, charge, put in fire, or mix with other battery types. Batteries may explode or leak causing injury. Replace all batteries at the same time. For general consumer safety regarding alkaline batteries, please reference the International Electrotechnical Commission's safety precautions1 for non rechargeable batteries.
