Elise Pelvic floor stimulator for Incontinence
There are 3 types of incontinence: Stress, Urge and Mixed
The Elise pelvic floor exerciser uses medically recognised electrotherapy programs to stimulate the pelvic floor muscle and improve its strength and endurance. It can take up to 3 months to obtain normal pelvic floor muscle strength, but studies have shown improvement in as little as 2 weeks. Pelvic floor stimulation is a therapeutic, safe and highly effective treatment for incontinence that is recommended by doctors, continence advisors and physiotherapists throughout the world.
STRESS incontinence describes the involuntary leakage of urine when a person coughs, sneezes, strains or makes sudden movement. If muscles are in poor condition, it is often difficult to engage the muscles you need to exercise. The stimulator sends signals that are similar to those sent by your brain, but stronger and targeted at the right site. With STRESS Incontinence, improvement comes slowly, successful treatment will require use of the Elise once a day for one to three months.
URGE incontinence is the unwanted and unexpected emptying of the bladder due to its muscles contracting involuntarily. It is also described as overactive bladder syndrome. The Elise URGE program uses a lower-frequency current that has been shown to have a beneficial effect in reducing the involuntary contractions. With URGE Incontinence, improvements can be seen in as little as two weeks.
MIXED incontinence is a combination of the 2 types, or if you are unsure which type fits your symptoms you would use the mixed program.
