Getting started

This product is a class II medical device from Health Canada and as such is considered a single user device and not returnable. You cannot return your device once the seal of the package of electrodes or the outer seal is broken. Personal, single-use medical products, such as TENS devices, cannot be returned. The warranty for the TENS device is valid for two years after purchase. Replacement units will be expedited within the warranty period. If you must return your device, returned devices must be in their original packaging, and the seal must not be broken. Return requests will be accepted within 30 days of purchase.

How do I use my Uniglo?

First pick the area you want to target. Uniglo is designed for wrinkle reduction and muscle toning, this unit is a new take on improving one’s looks naturally. Instead of relying on EMS only, Uniglo incorporates microcurrent technology, thus making it even more efficient. It has 8 Preset programs for facial toning and firming; as well as programs for body toning and shaping: abs, buttocks & hips, thighs, bust, arms and calves
The muscle stimulator can be used on multiple body parts to tone them: face, abs, buttocks and thighs, arms, calves and more. This is a great solution for those who want to get a face lift without an expensive and surgery as well as for those that simply want to add some firmness to their body.

I don’t feel anything? Is my device broken?

No! certain programs that use Microcurrent don’t really feel like anything at all. Microcurrent will often not generate any sensation or only a gentle tingling sensation. If you find the tingling sensation uncomfortable, you can reduce the intensity in steps of 10 μA in each channel. Face 2 is the microcurrent program that targets wrinkles.
Microcurrent is effective for deep facial toning and there is only very little sensation felt. Facial muscles and skin may also be stimulated to improve circulation, help activate fibroblasts which produce collagen and elastin and can also tone flaccid and sagging face muscles.

How long should I use the device for each day?

It depends on the program. Most of the programs are 30 minutes and you should use them 3-5 times per week. For the face programs use them 5 days per week, results are usually seen within 6 weeks of use.

How do I know where to put the electrodes?

Follow the images in the instruction book. Each area of the body has specific places to place the leads to make the device work the correct muscle or muscle group.

My program keeps stopping, is it broken?

No! Certain programs with a work / rest intermittent stimulation go back to zero.
Once you have reached a comfortable level in that program, 5 seconds after you stop pressing the button, the intermittent Work/Rest phase will start.
For each program, the unit will go through a stimulation phase (Work) for 0-10 seconds, followed by a phase without stimulation (Rest) for a similar time.
This is to allow your muscles to recover from exercise and avoid fatigue. You will see the R and the W on the screen to indicate rest and work.

What is the difference between EMS and MIC

Microcurrent (MIC) stimulation is a type of electrotherapy involving very tiny currents of electricity finely tuned to mimic the body’s normal electrical communication that takes place at the cellular
level. Electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) is a type of electrotherapy that stimulates a muscle contraction using electrical impulses in order strengthen weak muscles, build muscle bulk, reduce the signs of ageing, reduce swelling, relieve pain and help heal wounds.
As the body ages, many cellular processes begin to slow down. Microcurrent helps stimulate and re-establish many of the cellular processes that keep the body healthily functioning, such as ATP production, protein synthesis, oxygenation, ion exchange and absorption of nutrients. The improvements in cellular processes, reduced inflammation, and increased production and integrity of collagen help to reduce the signs of aging in the skin’s appearance.
TensCare’s Uniglo device features a specific microcurrent program for the face. Regular use is important to see and maintain results, the recommended treatment schedule is one session, five days a week. Normally, it will take around six weeks to see results.
In contrast to EMS, since microcurrent delivers such small currents of electricity, it often will not generate any sensation or only a gentle tingling sensation

How can I make my electrodes last longer?

Pre Application
Before applying electrode pads, be sure to wash the skin with warm soapy water to remove any dirt, oil or creams that may be present on the skin. The presence of oils and debris can degrade electrode pads and cause problems with adhesion.
Application and Removal
Turn off the TENS unit before applying and removing the electrodes. Peel electrodes gently from the corner, do not pull on the wire.
Storage
Electrodes are water-based and may dry out. Between uses they should be stored on the plastic shield in their re-sealable bag and kept in a cool place out of direct sunlight.
Dried-out electrodes
If the electrode gel becomes dry, either spray the gel side with a fine mist of water or apply a drop of water to the gel side and spread around with fingertip. Leave the electrode for about 10 minutes until it recovers its tackiness.
Over-wet or sticky electrodes
If the electrode gel becomes too soft and sticky, place the electrode in a refrigerator for a few hours, sticky side up.
Electrode life
The life of an electrode varies depending on skin conditions and skin preparation. Electrodes should last about 30 applications. Once tackiness is lost and no longer recoverable you should replace the electrodes.

What are the contraindications?

Do NOT use if you have a pacemaker (or if you have a heart rhythm problem) or with any electronic devices. Using this unit with electronic devices may cause erroneous operation of the device. Stimulation in the direct vicinity of an implanted device may affect some models.
Do NOT use during the first three months of pregnancy. It is not known whether TENS and EMS may affect foetal development.
Do NOT use on the abdomen in the later stages of pregnancy. Stop using immediately if you experience unexpected contractions.

All shipments originate from our warehouse in Richmond BC, and any problems or warranty issues will be responded to as quickly as possible.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, and in the original saleable condition. Refunds and returns must be initiated within 30 days of purchase.

Breast pumps and TensCare Devices are considered Class II medical devices and are non-returnable unless they are unopened and the safety seal is intact. Each pump and device comes with a two year warranty, if you are having any issues please contact us for troubleshooting and potential replacement.

Refunds and returns must be authorized. If you send back an unauthorized return, the package will be returned to you at your cost. To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
