Hospital-grade pumps are designed for multiple users, meaning it is safe for you to rent a pump. If you have used a breast pump in a hospital you may already have a milk collection kit. This kit can be used with a rental pump, providing you use the same brand that the hospital uses. Other brands of kits won’t work with Ameda pumps.

A personal use pump is not recommended to share or borrow as they are meant for use by only one person due possible contamination concerns.

3 REASONS TO RENT

If you are a parent of multiples or preemies a rental pump is helpful, especially in the beginning.

Your lactation consultant or healthcare professional has recommended that you try a hospital pump if you are having issues maintaining your supply.

Renting might be your best (and most cost-effective) option if you are undecided about pumping or if you plan to pump for less than six months.
